Rochester & Spaulding Boys Basketball — Season Expectations & What to Expect
Quick welcome
We’re excited for the season and want to make things clear and simple for players and families. Below are expectations, what you can expect from us, and the key actions to take.
Important note about dates & costs
- Dates listed are recurring seasonal events; exact dates/times will be announced each year.
- Any costs shown are examples from previous seasons and are subject to change. Final amounts will be shared at the mandatory parent/guardian meeting.
What we expect from players & families
- Attend the mandatory parent/guardian meeting (annual meeting — date/time announced each season). If no family member can attend, notify the coaches.
- Bring the assigned drink donation (labeled with the player’s name) to the meeting. Only bring the item you were assigned.
- Volunteer: each family must work three (3) concession shifts or pay the season’s buyout option (amount announced each year). Families without signups by the volunteer deadline will be assigned shifts.
- Return uniforms promptly at season end and follow the deposit policy below.
- Communicate early with coaches about scheduling or financial concerns.
What you can expect from us
- Clear, timely communication about schedules, changes, and expectations.
- Support from coaches and team volunteers; confidential assistance is available for financial hardship.
- Organized apparel orders and supervised concession operations.
Typical seasonal items & past-year examples (subject to change)
- Travel suits: example prior cost $150; boosters covered ~50% (previous year). Suits held until payment is received.
- Shooting shirts (JV & Freshman): boosters have previously covered ~50%; final price announced at the meeting.
- Uniform deposit: example prior deposit $150. Cash is held and returned when the uniform is returned. Checks are held uncashed and returned on uniform return; if the uniform is not returned, the check may be cashed and a replacement purchased.
- Concession buyout: example prior buyout $50 per shift. Final rules and amounts announced each year.
Concessions & volunteers
- Each family must work three shifts or pay the buyout per shift (if offered that season).
