Free-Throw-a-Thon — Saturday, December 20, 2025 (Spaulding High School)

Why this matters:

• This is a major program-wide fundraiser that supports coaching, equipment, travel, and opportunities for all teams. Full participation is critical to maintain and grow the program.

Event schedule - when we will shoot free throws

• High School Teams: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
• RMS Teams: 10:25 AM – 12:00 PM

Coach action checklist: 

1. Announce the FT-a-Thon at the end of a practice — be enthusiastic and require/strongly encourage every player to participate.
2. Run a short team competition (most sponsors, most money, quickest turn‑in) to boost energy.
3. Appoint a parent FT-a-Thon coordinator to collect pledges and track results so coaches can keep coaching.
4. Distribute pledge forms to players and instruct them to share with family, teachers, and friends over the holidays.
5. Remind players about the event at the close of every practice and ensure attendance at the Saturday shooting time.
6. After the shoot, keep reminding players to collect donations. Encourage quick turn‑ins with small incentives (e.g., skip a sprint).
7. Collect all money and turn it into Varsity Program the first weekend in January — we aim to close the fundraiser before the second week of January so awards can be ordered.

Coordinator responsibilities

• Track individual makes and money collected per player.
• Submit team totals and collected funds to your teams Coach by the first weekend in January.
• Manage communication between coach, players, and tournament director.

Prizes & Incentives

• Team-Level Winners (top earner at each level: 7th, 8th, Freshman, JV, Varsity): Adidas team issue apparel (Spaulding logo), NH Spartans AAU Spring tryout fee waived, and a 1-month Play Practice Confidence Warranty (4 weeks of check-ins and game film analysis).
• Top Overall Team (highest average $ per player): Pizza party sponsored by Spaulding Boys Basketball Boosters.
• Top 3 Overall Earners (choose one): options include a Sniper 2.0 four-week 1-on-1 shooting course (Play Practice, $425 value) or Spartans Basketball Camp (4-day spring/summer camp, $225 value).

Important Rules & Logistics

• Pledge form must travel home with players; families collect donations over the holiday period.
• All money must be turned in to your Coach the first weekend in January.
• Final winners and awards will be confirmed shortly after funds are collected.

Rochester Boys Basketball Boosters presents the Thanksgiving Jamboree for 7th & 8th Grade middle school teams

Event

• Date: Saturday, November 29, 2025
• Grades: 7th & 8th (Boys and Girls)
• Location: Rochester Community Center, 150 Wakefield St., Rochester, NH
• Format: Each team plays three 20-minute games

Costs & Admission

• Team entry fee: $125 per team
• Spectator admission: $3 (Adults) | $1 (Students & Seniors) | Kids under 5 free

• Deadline: All registration forms and payment due by November 14, 2025 (email registration accepted)
• One registration form required per team
• Space is limited — spot is not guaranteed until both registration and payment are received

Event

• Dates: Thursday–Sunday, March 5–8
• Location: Rochester Community Center, 150 Wakefield St., Rochester
• Grades: 3rd/4th and 5th/6th (Boys & Girls)
• Format: Pool play with playoff round; separate “A” and “B” divisions if enough teams

Schedule & Games

• Weekday game times: 4:00–9:00 PM; Weekend: 8:00 AM–9:00 PM
• Each team guaranteed 3 games
• Game length: Two 20-minute running halves; clock stops for foul shots and the final minute of each half
• Timeouts: Four full timeouts per team per game
• Overtime: Two-minute OT with one additional timeout
• Press: Allowed only in the last two minutes of each half

Rules Highlights

• Fouls: Five fouls per player; team bonus on 7th team foul; double bonus on 10th team foul
• Conduct: Head coach is responsible for conduct of players, assistants, scorekeepers, fans, and self
• Eligibility: No double rostering (players may play for only one team); no AAU teams — tournament is for town travel/all‑star teams

Registration & Payment

• Entry fee: $300 per team
• Registration deadline: All forms (and payment) due by Friday, February 20 (email registration accepted)
• Maximum: 8 teams per boys division and 8 teams per girls division (more teams → A/B divisions possible)
• Spot reserved only when both registration form and payment are received; all checks must be in hand by tournament start

Roster & Scheduling

• After registration, a link will be emailed to upload your team roster
• Scheduling requests must be submitted by February 23; final schedule emailed to team contacts by February 27
